Raydium (RAY) is a Solana blockchain-based automated market maker (AMM) that uses the central order book of the Serum decentralized exchange (DEX) to seek to offer lightning-fast transactions, pooled liquidity, and additional features for generating income. An automated market maker (AMM) is a sort of decentralized exchange (DEX) mechanism that prices assets using a mathematical formula. The platform allows users to swap and trade cryptocurrency. Moreover, users can also earn additional rewards through yield farming and staking. Other protocols can access liquidity within their pool, and Ethereum makes the transactions slow and increases the gas fees. The platform proclaims itself different from other DEXs as it seeks to solve the mentioned issues.
Another feature of Raydium includes a trading interface of the platform that seeks to allow users to set limit orders and control their trading. Further, project owners can power their projects by launching them on the platform's launchpad. If any user aims to build a platform on Solana, the platform welcomes such partnerships. Also, when any user starts their journey with the platform, they need to enroll for the Solana Program Library (SPL) wallet. The SPL wallet stores users' funds on the blockchain network and allows users to experience the platform's features. Additionally, the users require SOL (Solana) in the SPL wallet to make any transactions on Solana.
According to the whitepaper, for each swap in the liquidity pool, the platform charges 0.25% transaction fees. Here, users receive 0.22% into the liquidity pool as a reward for liquidity providers. The remaining 0.03% goes to the staking pool to reward the users staking RAY tokens. RAY token is the native currency of the Raydium platform. RAY holders can engage themselves in staking to earn additional RAY.
Also, the platform has reserved 34% of the total supply for the RAY mining reserve. Here, emissions may last for approximately thirty-six months, and halving occurs every six months. Emissions mean creating and releasing cryptocurrency into the market. On the other hand, halving means the budget utilized for emission for six months may halve with the previous period.
