What Is Genshiro (GENS)?
Genshiro is a decentralized cross-chain protocol that is open to everyone around the globe. The platform helps users earn yield, borrow, and trade on margin. They can also use asset portfolios rather than single collateral vaults. Moreover, the platform offers a variety of features for traders, borrowers, and liquidity providers. Liquidity is the easy conversion of an asset into traditional currency without impacting the market price.
The primary features of this protocol as per liquidity providers are:
Liquidity farming
Earning extra yield on bailouts
Non-custodial storage
Similarly, the Genshiro protocol has different features for borrowers and traders: borrowers get personalized interests and true collateral baskets. Borrowers can also generate stablecoins in this protocol. In contrast, traders get limit orders as a feature along with portfolio margining. Besides, they also get benefits of leverages up to 20x.
According to its whitepaper, the GENS token is a Kusama-based token of Genshiro. Kusama is a functional blockchain with a defined token supply for Polkadot. The token acts as a multipurpose token within the Genshiro ecosystem. As an internal cryptocurrency of Genshiro, the coin holders use it as a governance token. It allows token owners to participate in voting and express their opinions about ecosystem development. Also, they can enforce governance decisions via polls. Moreover, the platform offers GENS tokens to validators/ collators. These validators/ collators run the blockchain nodes and perform off-chain work. A node is a part of the blockchain infrastructure that maintains the ledger of public transactions.
Apart from these token features, coin owners can also borrow and have to pay interest fees in GENS coins. Also, the ecosystem of the Genshiro offers rewards to all the token holders who bring liquidity. And lastly, users can use the tokens as bailout and collateral liquidity in Kusama-based liquidity pools. Token holders have to pay transaction fees for each transaction.
In token distribution, the allocation of 45percent of the token is for lockdrop to Equilibrium (EQ) holders. Lockdrop is a bond that has a variable rate with a minimum level. The rate at which it locks, the bond converts to a fixed rate. Of the remaining 55 percent, 5 percent is distributed as a staking bonus, 15 percent goes to liquidity farming, and 20 percent is utilized in Kusama rewards. The rest, or 15 percent, is kept reserved in the treasury, which is used to cover extreme losses in case of "Black Swan" events.
History of Genshiro (GENS)
