What Is Lunyr (LUN)?

Lunyr is an Ethereum-based decentralized world knowledge-based platform that rewards users with app tokens for contributing information and peer-reviewing. The platform aims to be the starting point of the internet to find reliable and accurate information. However, its long-term vision is to develop a knowledge base application programming interface (API) that developers can build a next-generation decentralized application (DApp) in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and more. 

According to the whitepaper, the Lunyr API promises to significantly change existing business models and create new ones. API is a set of tools, routines, and protocols that help build a software application. 

Additionally, the platform's strategic component is the advertising system that permits the purchase of advertising of the platform using Lunyr token, LUN, a cryptographic token of the Lunyr application. The platform initially aims to concentrate on fine-tuning the system to improve accuracy, increase content, and grow readership. Ultimately, the platform intends to establish its brand worldwide as a reliable, accurate decentralized knowledge base. Further, the current crowd-sourced knowledge-base has centralization, inaccuracy, and censorship issues, but Lunyr seeks to solve all these problems. The solutions given by Lunyr are the following: 

• Decentralized - The Lunyr platform is built on Ethereum; therefore, it is decentralized, autonomous, and censorship-resistant.

• Token Incentive System - Ethereum allows app tokens to be created in the incentive system to replace intermediaries. In the Lunyr platform, tokens aim to play a primary role in seeking to provide economic incentives.

• Mandatory Peer review - Corruptions aim to get eliminated in the Lunyr platform. All submitted content goes to the mandatory peer-review process and is not committed to the knowledge base until approved.  Furthermore, the LUN reward comes from a pool of LUN that accumulates and is distributed among the contributors at the end of every two-week reward period. The initial distribution of LUN seeks to be determined through a crowd sale. The user cannot exchange LUN for goods and services, and it has no known use cases outside the Lunyr application. LUN does not permit any right to participate in the direction, control, or decision-making of Lunyr.
