ATA is an Ethereum token that powers Automata, a suite of privacy solutions for decentralized applications. Automata solutions include Witness (a private voting solution for DAOs), Conveyor (enabling MEV prevention for dapps), and Librarian (enabling privacy for data query and indexing on public blockchains). In the future, Automata plans to transition to a “Nominated Proof of Stake” network where ATA will be used for staking, paying transaction fees, and voting on the future of the network.
What Is Automata Network (ATA)?
Automata Network (ATA) offers private web services for decentralized applications (DApps) on the Web3. Web3 refers to a blockchain technology-based decentralized internet. The Automata Network empowers DApps and businesses with high-assurance, smooth, and decentralized transactions. Furthermore, the mission of Automata is to provide all the necessary features and infrastructure to make the Web3 vision a reality.
Automata Network (ATA) provides private governance to its users. Users can vote without disclosing their identity or preference in blockchain governance. Moreover, MEV minimization is a feature that does not allow anyone to view or influence the order of events on the blockchain.
According to the light paper, Automata Validators and Automata Geode are the two types of nodes joining the Automata Network to improve the protocol’s performance. A node is a computer connected to the blockchain network to execute certain functions.
The Automata Validator is required to stake a reasonable number of tokens. Moreover, the validator controls various control-plane tasks, e.g., rewarding Geodes that complete the tasks. On the other hand, an Automata Geode provides a fair, secure, and simple computation environment to execute tasks. In addition, Geodes can work with data on different blockchains while maintaining privacy.
The Automata Network (ATA) envisions providing multiple features to DApps in addition to the token-related activities. The network offers its users four planes: ledger, compute, control, and service plane. Automata also offers a privacy-first, multi-blockchain service plane that empowers decentralized applications with privacy services.
Service vendors can develop tooling services using Geode into Dapps. These services allow users to have complete control over their data. Furthermore, a shielded and unbiased compute plane is another plane Automata offers to its users. It uses Geode computation for improved privacy for its users. The Geode hides the data access patterns from the hosting nodes, thus keeping the data safe and secure.
Furthermore, an elastic and scalable control plane is another plane that safeguards the entire protocol. It also controls the interactions between multiple participants in the protocol. Moreover, the Genode providers and Automata Validators can earn rewards for staking and hosting. And lastly, the network provides tooling for developers to build advanced decentralized applications without restrictions.
