What Is Kalata (KALA)?
Kalata is a derivative lending and trading platform for decentralized synthetic assets. A derivative is an asset that derives its value or worth from an underlying asset. A synthetic asset is a tokenized form of another asset. In other words, a synthetic asset is a derivative form of another asset that mimics the value of that asset. A synthetic asset is also referred to as synth. According to the project’s whitepaper, Kalata is the backbone of issuing synthetic assets and transaction agreements. The project seeks to provide a smooth experience to its users of real-world financial assets.
According to the whitepaper, traditional finance has the disadvantages of being subject to geographical barriers, higher transaction costs, and liquidity restrictions, and as a result, may provide an opportunity for expansion of the decentralized finance (Defi) market.
Synthetic assets seek to provide a significant market for cryptocurrencies and may be easily accepted by users who have some traditional financial knowledge. The Kalata project converts such financial products into digital assets. In this way, a user gains equity over an asset without obtaining it. The synthetic asset allows a user to yield the benefit of changing the value of such asset without holding that asset. Moreover, according to the website, the Katala project has reduced the geographical barriers and reliance on intermediaries. And by increasing the efficiency of the transaction, it aims to improve the asset’s liquidity, which ultimately increases the investor base.
KALA is the native cryptocurrency of the Kalata project. The token is made to promote the governance mechanism and simulate the Katala platform activity. The project works on Binance Smart Chain. Users can mortgage KALA tokens and may earn a reward from the fees earned from such mortgaging. Users may also earn KALA tokens that mint and provide liquidity to the project. Also, users can initiate a proposal by paying KALA. Only those users who pledge KALA can participate in the project.
