What Is Drife (DRF)?
Drife is a ride-hailing platform that is entirely decentralized. The whitepaper mentions that the platform's goal is to empower the platform drivers and riders, who are the value creators and extractors in the ecosystem. Drife aims to disrupt the current economic paradigm by creating a more equitable, efficient, and transparent ride-hailing economy and a decentralized mobility marketplace.
For each journey, ride-hailing companies are renowned for charging large commissions to drivers of the overall fare. In addition, the commission also changes with every journey without disclosing or justifying the charges to the driver. As a result, driver earnings are modest, and some drivers even lose money after paying for gas, insurance, maintenance, and other expenses. These platforms even collect a wealth of data about their customers, including much personal information.
To solve these problems, Drife seeks to eliminate excessive transaction fees, reduce censorship (interference reduction from Drife side), and transfer value back to the community while increasing transparency. A zero-commission system results in higher earnings for drivers, who can then pass on the part of these savings to customers who save money on commuting. Since everything is performed on the blockchain, there seeks to be excellent transparency and verifiability across the platform. Drife has created a unique NFT-based franchise model to decentralize platform operations around the globe.
The native token of the platform is "DRF." The token type of DRF is ERC20. DRF is a blockchain-based cryptographic utility token used to reward users. Drife seeks to offer a token economy that compensates users for providing and receiving transportation and participating in, connecting with, and promoting the platform. Users can utilize DRF tokens to avail discounts, participate in platform governance, and aim to earn yield by staking the tokens. In addition, DRF tokens are used to gamify loyalty, rewards, and incentives on the platform.
History of Drife (DRF)
Firdosh Sheikh, Surya Ranjith, and Mudit Marda are the cofounders of Drife. Sheikh has over five years of experience in the IT and capital market industry. The maximum total supply of DRF is 3.25 billion tokens.
