What Is TRVL (TRVL)?

TRVL (TRVL) is the utility token for the Dtravel platform that redesigns the travel experience, making it inclusive, democratic, and rewarding. Dtravel is a platform formed by the travel community in the travel ecosystem. A perennial goal of the Dtravel community is to build a platform to support the travel community. An immediate sub-goal of the community is to build the key component of the Dtravel platform. These components are: 

• A marketplace for home-sharing that brings together hosts and guests.

• A way to minimize and decentralize intermediation between hosts and guests.

As per its whitepaper, in the home-sharing sector, some of the trends and opportunities to provide online services enabled a handful of corporations to grow to market caps. The growth led to centralization and monopoly of a once decentralized ecosystem and resulted in problems such as:

1. Intermediation.

2. Exorbitant fees.

3. Extraction of value arising from synergy.

4. Partiality in dispute resolution.

5. Inadequacy of benefits for special statuses.

6. Data opacity. Dtravel is creating a decentralized, community-owned and governed home-sharing network to resolve the abovementioned problems. The Dtravel network facilitates short, and long-term stay accommodation discovery while providing users with multiple choices. Thus, enabling bookings to be placed using traditional currencies and popular cryptocurrencies.

Dtravel leverages blockchain technology by using:

• Cryptocurrencies for payments.

• Smart contracts to automate its operations. Smart contracts are like regular contracts; however, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on a blockchain.

• Tokenomics and decentralized governance to align the attention of hosts and guests. Tokenomics is the topic of understanding the demand and supply characteristics of cryptocurrency.

Furthermore, to turn its vision of building an ecosystem for travellers into reality, Dtravel plans to:
