MetaSoccer is a complete soccer world created on a blockchain network. This soccer universe combines three markets with global impact, i.e., soccer, video games, and sports betting. All three markets are merged by NFT and blockchain technologies where users can participate in different ways. The decentralized ecosystem lets users earn cryptocurrency as they contribute to the MetaSoccer platform by playing the platform's play-to-earn video games.
According to its whitepaper, the MSU token can be earned in the following ways in the MetaSoccer universe:
Winning matches against other participants or AI.
Finishing the match season in the top positions in career mode.
Charging commissions on the trade of future players.
Borrowing participants to other teams for a particular period.
Betting on a team that is winning.
Getting sponsorship contracts with the gaining popularity of the team.
Renting the stadium in the game to other teams.
Selling out tickets to fans for attending the stadium.
All the MetaSoccer assets change during the game period. The more a user uses an asset, the more its ability increases up to the reach of their full potential.
MSU is an ERC-20 token of the MetaSoccer universe. The MSU token lets holders participate in key votes for the platform's governance, have access to NFT drops, and are given priority to try new features. The tokens are also used to carry out main functions like assets trading, minting of new assets, and more. However, a secondary token can be launched to carry out the minor functions in the game. Minting uses the proof-of-stake mechanism to generate new coins.
A Token Bonding Curve (TBC) is implemented to develop a sustainable metaverse that allows long-term adoption. Metaverse is a digital platform combined with multiple aspects like online gaming, virtual reality, augmented reality, and cryptocurrencies to let users interact virtually. The curve takes control over the supply of the token and mints and burns tokens regularly with a mathematical function on the side. Coin burning eliminates tokens from circulation by sending them to a wallet to lock them forever.
