Coinbase Advanced is getting an upgrade

Today we’re announcing a series of improvements on Coinbase Advanced based on feedback from the advanced trading community, with the goal of building a foundation for a fuller, more intuitive standalone experience. Notably, we’ve enhanced the UX and functionality on Coinbase.com which includes  237 new USDC trading pairs, the ability to earn 4% USDC rewards on all USDC balances, a dedicated home, and focused navigation*. 

Update as of March 19, 2024: Coinbase Advanced is now also available on the Coinbase app, redesigned for the sophisticated trader on-the-go. From an optimized navigation to a re-imagined Portfolio experience, advanced traders can access Coinbase Advanced by simply clicking on the toggle in the More Menu.

More opportunities, less friction

International traders have been requesting the ability to trade in our deeply liquid USD markets without having to engage in a multi-step process, so we’ve unified our USD and USDC order books. Now they have the ability to trade in 237 highly liquid USD markets by settling with USDC, while US traders can trade USDC with any of the existing 237 USD pairs via one balance. In addition, all traders can now earn up to 4% rewards on the USDC that they hold on Coinbase or on any USDC used in open orders. 

A new home for the advanced trader

Traders have told us that the advanced experience was difficult to find and required too many steps to access, so we’ve created a dedicated and persistent space on Coinbase to meet their unique needs. Traders can enter Coinbase Advanced via a global toggle switch from the user profile to access advanced trading tools and features. Going forward, Coinbase will remember trading preferences so that traders can dive right into their preferred experience.

Zero in on what matters most

We’ve also heard from traders that they want seamless access to the actions that they care about, so we simplified the advanced navigation in the new standalone experience. Core actions such as portfolio management, spot trading, and order management are now prioritized in the revamped interface so that customers can focus on their trading strategy. We’re also making it easier to place orders or manage past orders with improved sorting functionality on the order management page.

We aim to build the most trusted, world-class trading platform that will enable every advanced trader to confidently execute their trading strategies using the open financial system. With these improvements, we aim to create a solid foundation to build more advanced features, all backed by Coinbase’s industry leading security.  Advanced traders can continue to access powerful trading tools such as TradingView charts and indicators, limit and stop limit orders, and real-time order books.
