Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) è un token Ethereum che ha lo scopo di rappresentare Bitcoin (BTC) nella blockchain Ethereum. Non è Bitcoin, ma un token ERC-20 separato, creato per tenere traccia del valore di Bitcoin. WBTC è stato ideato per consentire ai detentori di bitcoin di partecipare alle app di finanza decentralizzata ("DeFi"), molto diffuse in Ethereum. Attraverso un partner WBTC, è possibile scambiare 1 bitcoin con 1 Wrapped Bitcoin e viceversa.
