Third Party Identity Verification Service Vendors

We will share your information with third party identity verification services in order to prevent fraud. This allows Coinbase to confirm your identity by comparing the information you provide us to public records and other third party databases. These service providers may process biometric information and create derivative data based on your personal information that can be used in connection with the provision of identity verification and fraud prevention services. Below is a list of vendors that we may use from time to time.
Jumio Corporation or Jumio UK, Limited (collectively “Jumio”)
We may use Jumio to verify your identity by determining whether a selfie you take matches the photo in your government issued identity document. The information collected from your photo may include biometric data. Jumio's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.jumio.com/legal-information/privacy-policy/jumio-inc-privacy-policy-for-online-services/, describes its collection and use of personal information, including biometric data.
Onfido Inc or Onfido Ltd (collectively “Onfido”)
We may use Onfido to (i) verify your identity by comparing the facial scan data extracted from your selfie or video with the photo in your government issued identity document evaluating the authenticity of images and videos and identity documents, including detecting whether there is a genuine human or physical document in your photos/videos or signs of tampering; and (ii) prevent and detect fraud, including by using your facial scan data to determine whether Onfido has previously verified your identity on our behalf. Onfido will process, store, retain and delete your personal information, including biometric data, in accordance with Onfido's Privacy Policy and Facial Scan Policy and Release available at https://onfido.com/privacy/ and https://onfido.com/facial-scan-policy-and-release/, which includes the use of data for improvements and development.
Au10tix LTD (“Au10tix”)
We may use Au10tix to (i) verify your identity by comparing the facial scan data extracted from your selfie or video with the photo in your government issued identity document and (ii) prevent and detect fraud, including by using your facial scan data to determine whether Au10tix has previously verified your identity on our behalf. Au10tix will process, store, retain and delete your personal information, including biometric data, in accordance with Au10tix's Privacy Policy and Facial Scan Policy and Release available at https://www.au10tix.com/privacy-notice/
Shufti Limited (“Shufti”)
We may use Shufti to verify your identity through verification of identifiable personal information. The information collected from you may include biometric data. Shufti’s Privacy Policy, available at https://shuftipro.com/privacy-policy/, describes its collection and use of personal information.
Refinitiv
We may use Refinitiv to (i) verify your identity by comparing the facial scan data extracted from your selfie or video with the photo in your government issued identity document and (ii) prevent and detect fraud, including by using your facial scan data to determine whether Refinitiv has previously verified your identity on our behalf. Refinitiv will process, store, retain and delete your personal information, including biometric data, in accordance with Refinitiv’s Privacy Policy and Facial Scan Policy and Release available at https://www.lseg.com/privacy-and-cookie-statement.
Unico
For Brazil users, we may use Unico to verify your identity through a selfie or a liveness review. The information collected from you may include biometric data. Unico will process, store, retain and delete your personal information, including biometric data, in accordance with Unico’s Privacy Policy, here, and Unico’s Face Match Policy, here.
Solaris (“Solaris”)
For Germany users, we may use Solaris to verify your identity through verification of identifiable personal information. The information collected from you may include biometric data. WebID
For Germany users, we may use WebID to verify your identity through verification of identifiable personal information. The information collected from you may include biometric data. Deutsche Post AG (“Postident”)
For Germany users, we may use Postident to (i) verify your identity by comparing the facial scan data extracted from your selfie or video with the photo in your government issued identity document and (ii) prevent and detect fraud, including by using your facial scan data to determine whether Postident has previously verified your identity on our behalf. Lionware GmbH (“Lionware”)
For Germany users, we may use Lionware to (i) verify your identity by comparing the facial scan data extracted from your selfie or video with the photo in your government issued identity document and (ii) prevent and detect fraud, including by using your facial scan data to determine whether Lionware has previously verified your identity on our behalf.
