City Chainis a blockchain technology network that incorporates the Smart City platform. The network's purpose is to enhance the utilization and accessibility of blockchain-based services and extend such services to cities, municipalities, and residents' lives. The platform intends to make blockchain technology accessible to the general public.

According to the whitepaper, the Smart City platform is a foundation for the software development process and projects built on the City Chain. The Smart City platform includes many applications and services that cities, governments, enterprises, retailers, and individuals use. The platform was launched with the fundamental purpose of creating cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies that are more user-friendly and accessible to everybody, regardless of technical knowledge.

The Smart City platform's initial intention is to keep the technologies simple to operate and available to all. The other purpose of the platform is to serve as an umbrella for the numerous and diverse new technologies that are constantly being developed using cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The City Hub makes it simple for users to discover the platform's software and services. The City Hub is a centralized application that includes all of the standard wallet functions as well as access to product information and services of the Smart City Platform.

CITY is City Chain’s native token. City Coin (CITY) is the currency chosen by the City Chain and Smart City Platform for their service exchange and payment. The token holders here can activate staking and earn additional income by engaging in the City Coin ecosystem if they have City Coin in their City Hub wallet.

As per the website, City Chain is a proof-of-stake blockchain, making it even more approachable to the general public by eliminating the requirement for mining hardware reserves. The users can use their money for staking rather than mining. For each block pledged, the staker receives two City Coins. City Chain implements Version 3 of PoS.

The City Chain / City Coin team collaborates with programmers, management, marketers, and advisers.
