The token's key purpose is to give full control of protocol to the token holders. The DeFiPie platform has to be decentralized in all aspects, such as decision-making and governance. The token is distributed to those holders who lock value in the protocol, offering a significant incentive to liquidity providers. The platform aims to distribute over 40 percent of the total supply to active DeFiPie platform users. Users do not need to un-stake the PIE token to vote and can keep earning staking rewards while participating in the governance simultaneously. PIE holders also aim to benefit from up to 150 percent in annual yield farming rewards. Holders who select to receive rewards in PIE seek to be able to secure higher interest rates.
