Ellis, on the other hand, worked as a software engineer at Pivotal Labs before co-founding Secure Asset Exchange, a company that facilitated easy web access to a decentralized asset exchange. The idea for Chainlink was born out of their previous venture, SmartContract, a platform that aimed to connect smart contracts to external data and bank payments. Since its inception, Chainlink has grown significantly and has established partnerships with numerous data providers and blockchain projects.
