XDC Network, previously known as XinFin Network, is a hybrid blockchain platform that merges the transparency of public blockchains with the speed and security of private networks. The network strives to provide streamlined financial services to its users through the use of blockchain technology and advanced infrastructure. The XDC Network's open-source software employs a delegated-Proof-of-Stake (XDPoS) consensus mechanism, which enables fast transactions, interoperability, and cybersecurity. The network has the capacity to process 2000 transactions per second and supports smart contracts, allowing developers to scale their projects more easily. The native token of the network, XDC, powers transactional activities and smart contracts on the network, and facilitates cross-border trade.

The XDC Network operates using a delegated-Proof-of-Stake (XDPoS) consensus mechanism, which allows for fast transactions and enhanced cybersecurity. The network is capable of processing 2000 transactions per second, which could potentially enhance efficiency for users. The XDC Network also supports interoperable smart contracts and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which allows users to scale their projects more easily. The network's native token, XDC, is used to fuel transactional activities and smart contracts on the network, and to facilitate cross-border trade. Users can stake their XDC tokens to contribute to the network's security and receive XDC rewards in return.

The XDC Network strives to address challenges that early blockchain networks faced, such as low network bandwidth, high fees, and a poor experience for developers. The platform supports smart contracts, giving developers the option to build apps and protocols on the blockchain. It also allows for the deployment of layer 2 digital assets and employs sharding to process transactions faster. The XDC Network is an open-source hybrid blockchain designed for global trade and finance. Its hybrid design allows it to interact with both public and private blockchains, providing hybrid relay bridges that retransmit transactions into the public network. This makes it a convenient platform for developers and financial institutions to build applications.

XinFin, the company behind the XDC Network, was founded in 2017 and is based in Singapore. The platform's founders are Ritesh Kakkad, Atul Khekade, and Karan Bhardwaj. However, Bhardwaj resigned in 2018 to focus on his own startup, Elatior Tech. Ritesh Kakkad is a tech entrepreneur with extensive experience in the blockchain industry, while Atul Khekade is a skilled computer engineer and programmer who has been instrumental in the development of several technology companies. The XDC Network was launched as an EVM-compatible, layer 1 blockchain that is compatible with the global payment messaging standard, ISO 20022. The platform also launched the XDCPay app, a web extension that strives to simplify the user experience for investors and businesses.
