What Is the Origin Dollar (OUSD)?
Origin Dollar (OUSD) is an ERC-20-based compliant token for the Ethereum network. It intends to be a stable currency backed 1:1 by other stablecoins like USDT, USDC, and DAI. The token is specially designed to offer competitive yields while passively being in wallets.
The OUSD aims to provide users with earning opportunities across DeFi. For instance, the OUSD smart contract deploys users’ underlying capital in diversified yield-earning strategies, rebalancing overtime while diversifying the risk. In addition, no staking or lockups are required. DeFi yields are converted to OUSD automatically and accumulate in users’ wallets.
Moreover, DeFi traders can automatically calculate their earnings as they can easily see their constantly updated OUSD balances with interest compounds. OUSD envisions it as an ideal stablecoin for DeFi yield farmers and new cryptocurrency users.
Unlike other tokens, OUSD asserts to work differently. Instead of increasing price as the value of the assets under management increases (Compound cTokens or Yearn yTokens), one OUSD remains constant at approximately $1. The OUSD contracts constantly adjust the monetary supply and automatically update the balance in every token holder's wallet to reflect the protocol's yield.
OUSD integrates with DeFi lending platforms that offer over-collateralized loans. Over-collateralization, combined with smart rules around liquidations, provides a reasonable security level for lenders. Users can even protect their holdings with smart contract insurance. A user can also make a financial bet on contracts' security and earn a yield by providing coverage.
Unique to the industry, OUSD beats traditional savings and markets by offering an estimated APY of 14.64 percent, instantaneous peer-to-peer transfers, and remittances without fees.
