Keep3rV1 aims to operate as a decentralized keeper network designed explicitly for projects that need external developers. At the same time, the platform helps external teams to find keeper jobs. Keepers are those who execute a job on the Keep3r network. They can be bots, scripts, numerous contracts, or just externally owned accounts. The keepers can trigger events on the platform by simply submitting a signed transaction for a third party, calling a transaction at a certain time, or something more complex such as extensive off-chain logic. In addition, each time a person or a team executes such functions, they seek to get rewarded with ETH, various tokens, or the platform’s native token (KPR). Moreover, the Keep3r network isn’t responsible for handling these jobs but for allowing contracts to assign these jobs to keepers.

A job refers to Keep3r’s smart contract that requires an external unit to perform an action. The platform wants keepers to perform these actions in goodwill to eliminate the presence of negative results. The network keepers can execute these registered jobs on their smart contracts. Smart contracts are just like regular contracts; however, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain.

Further, to join the network as a keeper involves calling a bond on the Keep3r contract. This bonding phase continues for three days, and once passed, the user can call, activate, and start functioning as a keeper. A job can seek to be registered in the following ways:

KPR is the platform’s governance token and is used for reviewing and validating jobs. KPR can also be utilized to blacklist malicious keepers or mitigate disputes if required. Only the bonded keepers have the right to participate in governance decisions.
