FAQ

The Halal Chain is a decentralized global monitoring system platform based on blockchain technology. The platform ensures product safety and integrity by using the technology of consortium chains, focusing mainly on the food, medicine, and cosmetic industries. The term consortium chain signifies a semi-private system that allows users to join the chain to exchange information without the need to develop their own platform for information sharing.

According to the whitepaper, Halal-Chain is a complex ecosystem of a wide range of regional laws, cultural diversity, industry implementations data model, and more while providing system extensibility, security, and stability to its users. Further, the chain uses a digital certification system for identity authentication and access control. This certification process is controlled by the chain's Certified Authority, who confirms the public key of the certificate's subject and other identification details. These details are then linked together to verify a user's or business' identity through a trusted third party on the basis of the certificate issued. Thus, allowing the chain to maintain stability, security, and extensibility that businesses and users can rely on for information exchange and monitoring.

Further, as per the token whitepaper, to support this overall operational structure of the Halal Chain, the platform launched its cryptocurrency, the HLC token. The HLC is the native token of the platform and has been developed on the Qtum blockchain network. The Qtum blockchain network is a blockchain technology that functions using Bitcoin's principle and Ethereum's flexibility. The HLC token serves many different utilities on the Halal-Chain platform, including:

These utilities of the token ensure the development of a sound operational structure on the Halal-Chain platform while functioning as a financial medium to run the platform.

The Halal Chain platform was developed by the engineering and technical team at Qitmeer, a technology development organization. The latest whitepaper of the Halal-Chain platform was released on March 26, 2020. The platform's token has a total supply of one billion HLC.
