SXPUP is derived from the underlying Swipe (SXP) token. The users of SXPUP might obtain incentives with the increase in the price of the underlying token. SXP is the native utility token of the Swipe ecosystem, which is part of the DeFi (decentralized finance) network. Swipe aims to integrate debit cards with DeFi services and applications. By enabling this merging, Swipe empowers users to exchange digital assets (cryptocurrencies) to traditional currencies and vice versa.

SXPUP is a Binance Leveraged Token (BLVT) that exposes users to the underlying digital assets or tokens, SXP in this case. BLVTs offer flexibility to users. The performance and associated usage of the underlying asset helps to determine the value of the SXPUP tokens. For example, SXPUP tokens allow users to leverage gains when the price of SXP increases, while SXPDOWN tokens enable users to leverage yield when the price of SXP decreases. Thereby, leveraged tokens provide an advantageous position. By doing so, leveraged tokens reduce the necessity for users to properly understand liquidity risks. If a trader fails to meet the requirements of the leveraged position, the trader position may be given to another network user.

Swipe was founded by Joselito Lizarondo. Binance acquired a majority of Swipe in July 2020.
