It operates on its own blockchain, the NEXT Smart Chain, which employs a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. This setup aims to provide a decentralized environment with scalability, instant transactions, and low transaction costs. The native utility token, NEXT, serves multiple purposes within the platform, including transaction processing costs, listing costs, creation of liquidity pools, running validator nodes, governance voting, and more. The platform also provides features such as staking for all tokens, listings for upcoming tokens, a mobile app for convenient token swapping, and a launchpad for new projects. The concept of NEXT was conceived by developer Christiaan van Steenbergen, who has experience in web3 programming and running a software company.
