TimiHealth is a blockchain-based ecosystem that aims to function as an HIE, to process all services and data requests for patients, providers, and consumer organizations. A health information exchange (HIE) is a reliable and interoperable electronic clinical data sharing across different medical institutions. HIE delivers patient records in a consistent and real-time manner, only accessed via a smart contract after patient authorization. The platform is fueled by Timicoin (TMC) as the utility token.
The purpose of Timicoin is to secure healthcare information within an HIE environment using blockchain technology. The Timicoin team expresses that interoperability of clinical data obtained by the patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers is lacking in the present healthcare infrastructure. Due to privacy concerns and fear that sharing information gives others a competitive advantage, the project intends to solve this problem using a blockchain-powered HIE.
A blockchain-powered HIE would allow coordinated patient care and eliminate unnecessary services and duplicate tests. Besides this, HIE delivers improved data integrity, reduced transaction costs, decentralization, and disintermediation of trust. Further, HIE provides an optimized environment where health data is structured and secured, leading to better data utility and improved patient care outcomes.
The project aims to work on a hybrid approach to harvest the pros of the PoW and PoSmechanisms. Up to block number 259200, the PoW chain aims to be active; after that, the PoS chain will be initiated to work and provide a safer and stable network ecosystem.
Also, users can transact their Timicoins (TMC) to validate smart contracts, request data inputs or provide data permissions, and access invaluable data via the TimiPatient App and Timi Wallet. Smart contracts are just like regular contracts; however, instead of being drafted on paper, these contracts run in the form of protocols on the blockchain.
Furthermore, the TimiPatient App aims to provide multiple utility functions to the patients connected to the time health network. These include gathering data and statistics, managing the data access restrictions, monitoring online health, and synchronizing health history from multiple clinical facilities. Lastly, the TimiWallet is the essential crypto wallet app for any user connected to the TimiHealth ecosystem for trading and making payments using Timicoin tokens.
