Altrucoin is a community-driven project which aims to become a DeFi lending platform. The platform aims to work with BankerDoge to offer loans for various scenarios. Altrucoin seeks to create an application that allows DeFi lending to be added to any compatible token and eventually bridge to different blockchains.

According to the whitepaper, Altrucoin aims to improve problems with existing yield-generating tokens. To elaborate, like for centralized control, the platform proposes decentralized governance. Next on the list is the problem of low token usability, for which the platform comes up with increased general usability. Altrucoin aims to solve the problem of no primary use case with the DeFi lending use case. The platform suggests customized smart contracts to overcome replicated smart contract code problems.

Another aim of the platform is to remove the intermediaries from the lending equation and instead send profits directly to token holders and charitable organizations. The platform finds many existing DeFi lending applications somewhat restricted in supporting cryptocurrencies. Therefore, Altrucoin seeks to implement many cryptocurrency mechanisms like frictionless yield generation through reflection, automatic liquidity pooling, deflationary (decreasing total supply) tokenomics, and more.

The Altruism protocol is an important component of the platform. The protocol is an ecosystem of decentralized applications, building a DeFi lending platform for all tokens. Designed to support Altrucoin holders, the protocol seeks to bring together an existing multi-DApp ecosystem, trustless DeFi lending, a utility token, charitable donations, and decentralized governance.
