VeriBlock is a platform that builds decentralized, trustless, transparent, and permissionless blockchain solutions. Each time a new blockchain joins the platform’s ecosystem or an existing one increases in value, all other blockchains benefit by having additional security and decentralization resulting from the forum’s increased network effect.
The VeriBlock blockchain implements the Proof-of-Proof (PoP) blockchain consensus protocol. PoP enables any blockchain, including sidechains and permissioned ledgers, to inherit the complete security of Bitcoin in a truly decentralized, trustless, transparent, and permissionless (DTTP) manner. The protocol achieves this by the publication of data representing a blockchain’s present state to Bitcoin, directly or indirectly. This is done in a way that any user can participate in and receive compensation for enabling blockchains to inherit Bitcoin’s security. Further, PoP also has a 51% security protection against attacks. The mechanism also introduces a new form of mining that anyone can participate in, using an open protocol that doesn’t require master nodes, federation, or elections.
The platform seeks to overcome two issues: alternate blockchains (or altchain) security and Bitcoin scalability. The PoP mechanism’s additional security enhances trust and enables the blockchain’s token to be listed on more exchanges with reduced confirmation waiting times and also allows it to participate in traditional markets due to the significantly reduced risk of consensus-related token theft.
Thus, with the enhanced security of blockchains, exchanges and merchants can list tokens from more blockchains.
