This role will sit within the Business Operations & Strategy team and partner with our Chief Product Officer and Executive VP of Engineering. 

Business Operations & Strategy is a cross-functional team working across the whole company – including both product and operations. The team is a partner to the senior leadership at Coinbase focusing on high-impact strategic projects and data analyses.

The Office of the Chief Product Officer and Executive VP of Engineering is a team that supports product and engineering leadership with special projects, internal and external communications, and accountability for key initiatives and deliverables owned across the organization. This person will focus on communications, and will be responsible for the development and delivery of communications to our product, engineering, and design organization, executive leadership, our board, and investors.

Job responsibilities:

  • Structure complex and ambiguous strategic problems for the Coinbase leadership team
  • Drive content creation, including design, narrative and data analysis, for board meetings and executive communications, both separately and in coordination with our PR and Comms teams
  • Create and prepare content for internal and external purposes, including investor presentations, external appearances, the Coinbase blog, internal company newsletters and company all hands
  • Analyze large amounts of information and data quickly and effectively to reduce complexity and make actionable recommendations for Coinbase.
  • Partner with the heads of products and operational functions to use data and insights to make informed judgments.
  • Steer large, cross-functional projects and build consensus with senior leadership across the organization.

Job requirements:

  • BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience at a top tier management consulting or investment banking firm
  • Outstanding executive-level verbal and written communication skills, including experience leading board- and/or public investor-level comms (messaging, development, execution)
  • Communications and design experience, along with solid analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for solving complex problems, and building scalable processes.
  • Comfort working in a high growth, constantly changing environment.

Nice to haves:

  • Strong design sense, with an eye towards visually conveying complex technical ideas to a lay audience
  • Previously served in any of the following roles for a design-focused tech company:
    • Chief of Staff
    • Special projects
    • Executive / Board communications
