Role and impact

As an APM at Coinbase, you’ll play a critical role in building the next generation of crypto products. By working closely with our engineering, design, and cross-functional teams in 12-month rotations, you and your fellow APMs will become experts in understanding our products from ideation to development and launch. The members of our APM class will rotate between two of our product teams. This collaborative environment will elevate your ability to analyze metrics and steer Coinbase’s product roadmap.

FAQ

How long is the program?

Each APM class is two years long and consists of two one-year rotations. The first cohort will start August 2021.

How does team matching work?

Matching will consist of working with participants around their interests as well as working with product leadership to find a beneficial match. Teams will present on potential projects and team overviews during onboarding.

What kind of support does Coinbase provide to APMs?

Feedback is a huge part of Coinbase culture. There are a few support mechanisms that we have in place for APM participants.

Mentorship - This is a senior product leader ( director or higher) that will be paired up with you during the entire duration of the APM program. They are meant to give you career advice, advocate for you, and help you navigate the Coinbase org. You are expected to sync at least every other month.

Day to day manager - Through each of your two rotations you will have a day to day manager that you will have weekly or bi monthly 1:1’s.

Buddy - This is a Product Manager who you will meet with on an informal basis and help get you acclimated to Coinbase.

Program manager - This will be a dedicated member of the People team who will be organizing your learning and development, feedback sessions etc

Where can APM’s be located?

Given the company’s shift to remote-first, APM’s can be located anywhere in the United States. Once a quarter (pending health and safety guidelines), APM’s will be expected to come together for one week of learning development, networking, and social events.
