As a finance member, you will have broad exposure to various teams at Coinbase and will also work closely with external business partners.  The ideal candidate for this position will have cash management or accounting experience in an international, high transaction volume corporation. In addition, they will have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, a strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to work in a fast paced, hyper growth environment.  This position reports to the Platform Accounting Manager.


  • Implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on daily cash activity.
  • Prepare and review daily and month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with payments and engineering teams to investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies.
  • Perform fluctuation analysis for monthly reporting deliverables.
  • Work directly with auditors to meet audit deadlines.
  • Support the Platform Accounting Manager in enhancing the Company’s existing accounting procedures and internal controls while seeking opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with various ad hoc projects and on-going efforts toward increased automation in monthly reporting.


  • Minimum of four (4) years of cash management or accounting experience.
  • B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience managing numerous cash and GL accounts, denominated in various currencies, and strong understanding of merchant fees.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (CPA a strong plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and SQL.
  • Systems experience: NetSuite, Workday, Oracle or other integrated ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills - ability to work with a diverse team and drive change across functional and business boundaries.
  • Detail-oriented with great analytical and organizational skills.
