Coinbase allows merchants to create simple buttons and links to collect bitcoin payments.

These work great to collect payments, but (until now) required some custom integration to collect shipping addresses or email addresses from customers. We got some feedback from merchants that they wanted this capability built right into our merchant tools — so we’ve added it!

Now when generating a payment button or link, you’ll see some new options:

If you check the first option (for example), the customer will see a checkout experience like so:

0*uQRYjWh1ineWgqpL

This extra data gets sent back to you in a few ways:

  • In your order notification email

  • In the callback to your website

  • On the order page in your account

This combined with our two-click checkout, 300,000 consumer wallets, and free processing on your first $1M in orders makes accepting bitcoin even easier.
