Instant Bitcoin Purchases at Coinbase

Today at Coinbase we enabled instant bitcoin purchases for fully verified users. Fully verified users can now buy up to 50 bitcoin instantly.

Coinbase has always made it convenient to buy bitcoin by connecting any U.S. bank account. But now it’s convenient and fast.

All level 2 accounts will now need to complete an identity verification step to turn on instant buys. In addition, current level 2 users have been bumped down to level 1 until they complete the identification step.

ID verification is only required for higher buy limits and instant purchases — you can still purchase a smaller amount of BTC as a level 1 user in the standard manner.
