Futures Spring 2024 Release - More Contracts, More Leverage, and More Platforms

TLDR: Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM) is committed to making futures trading accessible to a wider set of traders in the US. CFM is continuing towards this goal by allowing traders on Coinbase Advanced to access more futures contracts, more leverage (up to 20x), and trade in more ways. Our platform now offers Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin futures contracts. Plus, traders can now access two non-crypto futures contracts for the first time ever on Coinbase Advanced: gold and oil.

More Contracts

We’ve heard feedback from customers that they’re looking for more futures contract options. Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM) added several new contracts, and we are the first to allow traders to access crypto futures contracts for Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin.

In addition to the five crypto contracts now available on Coinbase Advanced, traders also tell us that they would like one platform to conveniently trade all types of futures contracts. That’s why for the first time ever on Coinbase Advanced, traders can now access real world assets like commodities futures contracts for gold and oil.

More Leverage

Traders also tell us that they want to trade with more leverage. CFM is introducing higher leverage options for day traders and increasing position limits to empower users to optimize their trading potential. Traders can access up to 20X leverage on commodity futures and 5X leverage on crypto futures. Important note: Leverage in futures trading can work for you or against you. The risk of loss using leverage can exceed your initial investment amount.
