Coinbase welcomes the Kippt team

I’m excited to announce that we’ve acquired the team behind Kippt and Inc! We’ve known the founders — Jori Lallo and Karri Saarinen — for quite some time. In fact, they were in the same batch with us during Y Combinator almost two years ago.

Since then, we’ve been continually impressed with their ability to ship amazing product. Karri brings an uncanny eye for design (much of his handiwork is already visible throughout Coinbase), and Jori brings many years of experience as a software engineer (our recent app gallery is one example).

Both will be joining our product team to help us continue to make bitcoin easy to use for the everyday consumer, merchant, and developer.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have them onboard, and can’t wait to see what they help us create.
